ImageNurse
120 browser-based image tools — convert between PNG, JPG, WebP, HEIC, AVIF, SVG, and more; resize and crop with social media presets; compress with quality and target-size controls; manage metadata; and batch process entire folders — all client-side with Canvas API and WebAssembly.
I mageNurse is a free, browser-based image processing platform with 120 tools organized across nine categories: format conversion, batch processing, resize and scale, crop and aspect ratio, rotate and flip, compression and optimization, metadata management, social media presets, and advanced exports. The platform handles every major image format — PNG, JPG, WebP, HEIC, SVG, AVIF, BMP, TIFF, GIF, ICO, and PSD — using the Canvas API for image manipulation and WebAssembly for high-performance operations like compression and format encoding. All processing happens locally in the browser. Images never leave the device, and the application works offline as a progressive web app. The site is available in thirteen languages — including right-to-left support for Arabic, Hebrew, and Farsi — with fully localized URLs for every tool. ImageNurse includes specialized capabilities that go beyond basic image editing: face-aware cropping, AI-powered background removal, OG image generation with safe-area preview, sprite sheet generation, animated GIF creation, responsive image set generation for 1x/2x displays, and a multi-export tool that outputs a single image to multiple formats and sizes simultaneously.
What I did
- Built 120 client-side image tools across nine categories — including 18 format converters handling PNG, JPG, WebP, HEIC, SVG, AVIF, BMP, TIFF, GIF, ICO, and PSD; 15 crop tools with aspect ratio presets and face-aware cropping; 14 resize tools including responsive image set generation; and 15 compression tools with quality preview and target file size controls
- Implemented batch processing across every major operation — batch convert, batch resize, batch compress to quality or size targets, batch crop to aspect ratio, batch rotate and flip, batch strip metadata, and batch rename with pattern matching — with ZIP export for bundled output
- Built social media preset tools for Twitter/X, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, and TikTok — including an OG image generator with safe-area preview and a multi-platform OG + Twitter Card pack that outputs all required sizes in one operation
- Implemented client-side AI-powered background removal and face-aware cropping that run entirely in the browser without server calls
- Built advanced export tools including a sprite sheet generator, animated GIF/WebP creator from image sequences, PDF from images, responsive image set generator for multiple display densities, and a multi-export tool that outputs a single image to many formats and sizes simultaneously
- Built the image processing pipeline using Canvas API for manipulation and WebAssembly for high-performance compression and format encoding — keeping all operations client-side with zero file uploads
- Implemented metadata tools including an EXIF viewer, ICC profile inspector, dominant color and average color extraction, transparency checker, duplicate image finder by perceptual hash, and data URL conversion
- Internationalized the full application into thirteen languages — including right-to-left layout support for Arabic, Hebrew, and Farsi — with fully localized URLs for every tool
